About Sunny D'souza
Sunny D’Souza is a Mumbai-based guitarist, vocalist and bandleader whose playing blends raw blues tradition with modern rock energy. Inspired by icons like Jimi Hendrix, Michael Landau and Eric Gales Sunny has built a reputation for expressive tone, powerful stage presence, and a deep passion for the electric guitar.
He is the founder and driving force behind the blues-rock band Overdrive, known for their explosive live performances and unmistakable edge. The band gained national attention after opening the Mahindra Blues Festival in 2012 for blues legend Buddy Guy and later sharing stages with artists such as Van Wilks, Bobby Whitlock, and Coco Carmel at the Puravankara Indigo & Blues Festival.
Overdrive has become a familiar name on the Indian live circuit, performing regularly at renowned Indian venues, building a loyal following of blues and rock fans across the country.
Beyond the stage, Sunny is widely respected for his gear demonstrations and tone explorations. Through collaborations with leading music retailers including Bhargavas Musik, Furtados Music, and The Stockist, as well as his growing audience on Instagram, he continues to influence guitarists seeking authentic blues-rock tone.
